ramblings: Kimi to Boku

ky09wow i can't believe i didn't post anything for the whole of 2017 lolol
i started reading the Kimi to Boku manga like a few months back iirc. it's been on my to-read list for a long time but i only got really motivated to read it when i found out there was an anime adaptation with a cast of seiyuus i'm really fond of. i decided to pull a "Bakuman" (in which i read the manga first then watch the anime adaptation, cause that's what i did with Bakuman) for it, and i finally caught up to the latest scanlated chapter few days back, so now i'm watching s1 and imploding at all the feels it's giving me. ♥
maybe cause it's a slice-of-life genre, so i was really slow, like really slow, with the manga. i mean, there's no urgency to read the next chapter like right away, and with SOL genres, it's easy to screencap everything and livetweet - so never mind catching up to the latest scanlated chapter, just finishing a damn chapter takes me longer than usual... smh, self.
i can safely say that Kaname is my favourite character thus far... just by a little bit over the main cast... a very tiny bit... lol. i actually didn't see this coming cause honestly (and i can say this now without guilt since he's my fave hek hek), in the earlier chapters he's always the party pooper, so i kind of sort of thought he was annoying? hahaha. the first few eps in s1 reminded me of that, and i was thinking how his character setting has changed in the later chapters~ lol.
i think i tend to like grumpy characters who are easily misunderstood on a surface level (like Abeno from Mononokean, Kageyama from Haikyuu!!), so it feels like it was just a matter of time with Kaname, but i also think a big reason why i like seeing him be the focus in chapters is simply cause i ship him with almost everyone - romantic/platonic, i am there. hahahah. a clear fave of mine is Yuuki x Kaname (that damn chapter where Kaname grabbed Yuuki's hand - i am a fire emoji) though. i know, cause i pay so much attention to every interaction they have whenever they're onscreen together. hahaha. but omg, my Hisako x Kaname ship is ready - i hope there will be progress on that in the future. :D
