For the holidays leading up to my internship, I've been binging on fandom related stuff. The stuff that I wanted to watch just kept piling up and I was downloading faster than I was watching 'em. (faints) Especially when it was Ohno's birthday. Cause most subbing groups were celebrating it, there were a lot of Ohno goodies to watch. (hahah)

Anyway, being the ultimate couch potato over the holidays, I cleared it all off and even watched Arashi's Beautiful World concert. Like finally. It was brilliant as usual. ♥ I also downloaded a few movies I've been meaning to watch!

Ai to Makoto:
I was really excited to watch this one. It sold itself as a romantic musical. I've never watched any Japanese musical before. How could I contain my excitement? But meh, I probably overestimated the movie cause it was just ok, personally. A little disturbing at some parts... And the sudden burst into song just wasn't as natural as I hoped it would be. (lol) But the songs were pretty catchy, I'm especially hooked onto Takei Emi's solo when she was professing her love to Tsumabuki Satoshi. (hahah)

Gyakuten Saiban:
Loved it! I was on my toes watching it wanting to know how it would end and stuff. I was pleasantly surprised with the cast cause I knew most of them and I watched it only knowing Narimiya Hiroki and Saito Takumi were in the movie. I liked the touch of humour too! It was my kind of humour. (lol) After watching it, I wanted to play the game so bad! Found it on the Appstore but... it was 4.99 USD. I'm a cheapskate so I didn't buy it and was sad... I've gotten over it already though. (lol)

Rurouni Kenshin:
Enjoyed it more than I think I would. :3 Not gonna compare it with the anime because 1) I don't remember it too well anymore, it's been a few years since I last saw it, and 2) two hours+ vs 95, 30 minutes per episode of the anime just isn't fair. I think it did pretty well compressing the tokyo arc into a movie. Sato Takeru did a good job playing the bamf Himura Kenshin and the fight scenes were really cool! (thumbs up) And again, I was pleasantly surprised with the cast, only knowing Takeru and Takei Emi were in it prior to watching. I only figured out Megumi was Aoi Yuu halfway through the movie cause she looks so different from usual (to me) in the movie. (lol)

Kaibutsu-kun The Movie:
It was what I expected. "The moral of the story is..." that kind. It felt pretty nostalgic to hear all the characters and their weird accents again. And of course, bratty Ohno Satoshi. (hahaha) I was a little annoyed at Kawashima Umika's indian doppelganger this time round though. I don't remember hating her Utako character, so yeah... The thing I found most amusing was Ohno complaining how the dragon looked like a goat instead of a dragon. (lmao) Agreed! :P

Kisarazu Cat's Eye:
I'm already halfway through the show and I love it so far! Halfway watching it I realized the scriptwriter is Kudo Kankuro. He was the script writer for Ryusei no Kizuna (which I love), so I felt like "Oh... so that's why..." about the humour for KCE. I thought it was similar! (lol) Gotta give props to the actors, really. Especially Okada Yoshinori, Furuta Arata and Abe Sadao. Their characters crack me up. (hahaha) And I think I might finally start to love the theme song, 'a day in our life' by Arashi by the end of the series. It's one of those Arashi songs that I just don't fancy... Well that's gonna change soon huh? (lol)

Hoping to finish the whole KCE series and watch Arafes before internship starts! I figure I'll be busy the next 3 months. (cries)
